There's More Than One Reason for Using May National |
|
|
In addition to the excellent adhesion characteristics of our one-component RTVs you will find that they also have many other advantages over two-component systems. Standard one-component RTVs display high elongation and high tear strength to absorb stresses caused by substrates with dissimilar coefficients of thermal expansion, or by substrates with a wide range of mechanical motion. Furthermore, one-component RTVs can be formulated to provide elastomeric properties at temperatures up to 575°F (300°C) for sustained periods. And, since no mixing is required, one-component RTVs are very easy to apply and simple to use. An important part of one-component RTV chemistry is the cross-linking mechanism. Each cross-linker used in formulating RTVs has unique advantages and disadvantages. The information below illustrates some of the features which would best help determine the RTV best suited for your particular application. |
